Structures are a flexible building tool that lets you construct custom spaces directly within the 3D View. They start as simple cubes that can be scaled and shaped into walls, floors, ceilings, dividers, or any other architectural element you need to define your scene.
Unlike pre-built Stage assets, Structures give you full control over the layout and dimensions of your environment, making them ideal for creating original spaces or filling gaps in existing stages.
Click the Structures button in the 3D View toolbar to add a new Structure to your scene. A blank cube will appear that you can then resize and position as needed.
Structures can be resized directly in the 3D scene by dragging their handles, giving you immediate visual feedback as you scale them. Use the transform gizmo to move and rotate them into place.
For precise sizing, position, and rotation values, use the Property Panel on the right.
Each Structure can be given a different material to match the surface it represents - such as brick, concrete, wood, and more. To change a Structure's material:
Build your environment once, then reuse it. Because Sumugi lets you move the camera to capture different angles from the same scene, you only need to build as much of a space as the camera will actually see. You can always extend or modify the structure later if your story requires new angles.
Combine Structures with Stages. Pre-built Stages can serve as a base for your environment, while Structures let you add custom walls, partitions, or architectural details that the Stage doesn't include.
Use Structures as invisible blockers. With the right material or by adjusting transparency, Structures can also be used to block light or create compositional boundaries that don't need to be visually prominent in the final panel.
