Layout View is where you shape your captured panels into a finished comic page. You can reorder panels, resize them, adjust layering, and add visual elements, all without leaving Sumugi. Many of the features here came directly from creator feedback, and new tools are added regularly!
Panels captured in 3D View appear automatically in Layout View. From here you can:
With a panel selected, the Property Panel on the right gives you access to per-panel settings including:
Make sure a panel is selected before adjusting these settings, as they apply to the selected panel only.
Select a panel and use the Effects system to apply visual filters and enhancements for mood, style, or emphasis. Effects are applied non-destructively and can be adjusted or removed at any time.
You can add 2D images as overlays on top of your panels in two ways:
Images added in Layout View appear as 2D overlays composited on top of your captured panels, and can be moved, resized, and have effects applied to them independently.
Dialogue and lettering can be added directly in Layout View, keeping scene building and text work as separate steps — much like how lettering is handled independently in traditional comic creation. See the Speech Balloons page for a full guide to adding and customizing balloons.
